Wilder relieved to get win

Oxford manager Chris Wilder feels his side's opening win of the season against Morecambe was long overdue. The U's had drawn three and lost one of their previous four league games following promotion and Wilder believes his side had not got the results their performances had deserved prior to their 4-0 triumph over the weekend. Wilder said: "We've been knocking on the door this last month. It's great for everybody to get that first win done and dusted. "We know that in this league we have to play well and when we play well we have to win - that's the bottom line. "I think we've played well on numerous occasions already this season and not got the result, but it's no good me saying to everyone that we're doing alright. "Everybody looks in the papers and on the TV and sees where the table is and we had to marry the result with the performance. I think that we've done that."
