Wilder ready to wield the axe
Oxford boss Chris Wilder is expected to make a number of changes for the trip to Stockport.
Wilder was not happy with the 3-1 defeat to Lincoln on Tuesday, their second successive League Two defeat.
He was particularly annoyed with the defence so French centre-back Djoumin Sangare, who impressed for the reserves in midweek, and Ben Purkiss could earn recalls.
Winger Simon Hackney, striker Jack Midson and forward Alfie Potter all came on against Lincoln and could come in after all got on the scoresheet in the reserve game. Josh Payne and Simon Clist are also options in the middle of the park.
Despite the recent losses, United are still only two points away from the play-offs as they chase back-to-back promotions.
