Wilder ready for United test

Oxford boss Chris Wilder is relishing the chance to pit his wits against top-flight opposition and hopes his side will be ready for the test. The Football League new-boys, who claimed an impressive 1-1 draw against Championship side Leicester at the weekend, will host a Manchester United XI on Tuesday evening. Although the United side is likely to be made up of fringe players, Wilder is still expecting a tough test and is taking the game as seriously as any other. "We take these games seriously and the preparation is always proper and always positive," he told the club's official website. "No matter who they bring the fact is that to earn a contract at that club you've got to be a special player. "They don't waste contracts and I'm sure that there will be one or two stars of the future turning out on Tuesday night. "We've seen before that Manchester United is a club that believes in their development system just as much as they do in buying quality internationals, so we know that will be a good test and hopefully an entertaining game to watch."
