Wilder rages at "awful" referee

Oxford boss Chris Wilder was far from happy with the referee's performance during the 2-1 defeat against Southend. James Constable put the U's in front after 14 minutes before two goals in two minutes just before half-time from Ryan Hall and Bilel Mohsni handed Southend the points. However, Wilder insisted the referee's performance was more than questionable following the decision to hand midfielder Damien Batt a straight red card after 66 minutes for a foul on Anthony Grant, while also disallowing a late Southend goal. Wilder told Oxford Player: "I've got to say I think we have been done. In certain aspects from my point of view, we haven't defended well but the performance of the referee has overshadowed everything. "Damian getting sent off, bookings all over the place, disallowed goal at the end. "I thought the referee was all over the place, awful."
