Wilder encouraged by battling United

Oxford manager Chris Wilder was full of praise for his side's performance in their goalless draw at Accrington and believes they have set the benchmark for next season. Wilder's side denied play-off chasing Stanley a ninth consecutive home defeat and the United boss urged them to repeat the display on a regular basis next season. He said: "They had won eight on the bounce at home, against some good teams, so it's a decent result for us. "If we had shown this quality in a few more games this season away from home then we would be better than where we are." He added: "It wasn't back to the walls for us as we had a couple of chances. We stuck to our task manfully, though, and I was never worried that they were going to score. "We are a very young side and we are still learning. We haven't got a lot of experience but we will get better. We need to perform more like this if we are to be successful next season."
