United set for double swoop

27 May 2010 18:53
United manager Chris Wilder is poised to make his 5th and 6th signings of the summer with Jake Wright and Matt Green. Wright 24, on loan from Brighton has impressed immensely since he joined United in January from the league one outfit while Matt Green is no stranger to United having played for United on 3 separate occasions with the pacy frontman scoring 14 times. United's deal with Wright is more straight forward with an agreement with both club and player in place however United are yet to thrash out a deal to sign Green. Torquay's reluctance to release a player with such promise means Paul Buckle's men will seek either a fee or compensation package having offered him a deal equal or more than the one United have. The Devon club will feel the need to recoup funds for their assualt at the league in time for the next campaign. Manager Paul Buckle has already lost the promising Mustapha Carayol to league two rivals Lincoln for an expected 50k fee (tribunal) The club will look to take United all the way in terms of agreeing a fee even though Paul Buckle has already admitted Green is set to depart Plainmoor. If a fee cannot be agreed then the deal will go to tribunal a fee of 20k thought to be a realistic figure.   Fancy a flutter with paddypower?
