Potter in United frame

Alfie Potter is in contention to make his Oxford debut against Bristol Rovers after he was cleared of any involvement in a stabbing incident. Potter was arrested as part of an alleged incident at a London nightclub last weekend but was later released without charge. The 21-year-old summer signing was not considered for United's opening day draw at Burton as a result but is now available for selection. On-loan Chelsea youngster Danny Philliskirk will also be hoping to make his first U's start in the Carling Cup clash. The attacking midfielder was an unused sub in the 0-0 draw, as was Simon Clist, who is in contention after recovering from a hernia operation. Defender Rhys Day is still a month away from recovering from a knee problem.
