Oxford midfielder Josh Payne has hailed his free-kick during the 3-1 win over Northampton as one of the best goals of his fledgeling career. The 19-year-old, on loan from Doncaster, hit his first goal for the Us with a superb curling effort from 25 yards to put his team 2-1 up and has admitted to scoring few better goals in his career so far. He told the Oxford Mail: "It's up there definitely. I ran up to the ball because I knew it was on. And I was only ever going to shoot - I wasn't going to cross from there!" Payne also received praise from scorer of the first goal, Alfie Potter. He said: "I've seen him (Payne) take a few in training this week. "He takes a good free-kick and when he stepped up for it, I had a feeling it was going to go in."
