Hylton out for Oxford

Oxford will be without striker Danny Hylton when they welcome Hartlepool to the Kassam,

The former Rotherham forward serves the second game of his two-match suspension and Callum O'Dowda, who replaced Hylton in the 0-0 draw at Plymouth, will fancy his chances of keeping his place in the side.

Boss Michael Appleton could hand a start to James Roberts, who made an 18-minute cameo on Saturday, after Patrick Hoban's goal drought continued against the Pilgrims.

That point leaves Oxford marooned in mid-table and 11 points clear of the relegation zone.

Hartlepool boss Ronnie Moore must decide whether to stick with a new 3-5-2 formation after seeing his side clinch their first league win on the road since October at Morecambe on Saturday.

Moore has no new injury or suspension problems and will consider his options, with midfielder Tommy Miller pushing for a recall after being sidelined since the end of October due to a calf injury.

Stuart Parnaby is making speedy progress following knee surgery but is not yet ready, while fellow defender Matthew Bates (thigh) and striker Scott Fenwick (ankle) are both a fortnight away.

Midfielder Michael Woods (ankle) is out for the rest of the campaign as Pools chase back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
