Worley leaves it late

A late strike from substitute Harry Worley earned Oxford a 1-1 draw at Morecambe.

Worley turned home Alfie Potter's right-wing cross from eight yards with two minutes left to cancel out Kevin Ellison's 78th-minute opener.

The Shrimps' top scorer gave his side the lead with a close-range finish from an Andy Wright corner.

Oxford dominated the early stages and went close after just 13 seconds when Tom Craddock found himself in space in the box but dragged his shot just wide of the right-hand post.

That set the tone for the opening period as Chris Wilder's side dominated.

James Constable had a chance after a Nick Fenton slip but just as he looked to pull the trigger he slipped and lost possession.

Craddock had a second chance on eight minutes but was denied by the legs of Barry Roche, who was also called upon again seven minutes later to parry a long-range effort from Damien Batt.

The U's were made to pay for their profligacy when Ellison netted his 10th of the season.

But Worley popped up to seal a point for the visitors late on.
