Maclean confident of Oxford success

New-boy Steven Maclean believes Oxford have got what it takes to make an impact in npower League Two having spent just six days at the Kassam Stadium. The striker, along with fellow loan signings Ben Futcher and Paul Wotton, arrived last week from Plymouth on a month's loan as manager Chris Wilder looked to freshen up his depleted squad. Maclean made his debut in Saturday`s 2-1 defeat at Rotherham, United`s sixth in seven games, but, as he prepares to make his home debut against out-of-sorts Gillingham this weekend, he is backing the U`s to turn things around. "I have seen enough around the place now to know that we have the players and manager to do well. I have played at this level and know how tight it can get," he told the club`s official website. "A couple of wins pushes you right up the table so we can start that happening against Gillingham and then see where it takes us." Defender Futcher added: "Everybody has been fantastic so far and there`s a good atmosphere among the players, so if we can get a win fairly quickly I`m confident we can turn things around a bit and start pushing on."
