Lewis: We're learning quickly

Assistant manager Mickey Lewis was delighted after watching Oxford secure all three points with a comfortable 3-1 win over Northampton. Alfie Potter fired the Us into a fourth-minute lead, but Leon McKenzie restored parity 12 minutes later. Josh Payne was on hand to restore the hosts' advantage on the stroke of half-time, before Tom Craddock rounded things off with a late penalty. "After our defeat last week, all that mattered in this game was the result," Lewis said. "We've got a young team, they are an honest bunch and they want to learn. "They don't get everything right all the time, it's a learning process for them, but in this game they showed a really good resilience to do that. "We started the game well, not just with the early goal, which was a really well-worked good footballing goal. It was a pretty close game, nip and tuck, and Josh Payne scored a really good free-kick goal."
