Taylor dismisses Leeds move links

The Oldham-born midfielder impressed the Whites last season when he scored twice at Elland Road to secure a 2-0 win for the Latics and the 22-year-old has been linked with a move away from Boundary Park throughout the summer. However, he told skysports.com that it was merely speculation and that he is more than happy to stay with his hometown club. He did, though, concede he would like to play at a higher level sooner rather than later. "I heard a little bit about the Leeds link, but not a great deal and I don't think the club had any enquiries or bids for me," Taylor told skysports.com. "I'm more than happy at Oldham and I love it here, but one day I would like to test myself at a higher level because I think I have shown that I have proved myself in League One. "I'd love to get there with Oldham and the sooner the better for both of us really." Taylor notched 11 goals in total last season, as the Latics' disappointing end to the season cost them a top-six finish and he is hoping to emulate that tally this year. "I do set targets, but the main thing for me is to get my shots on target and continue to put good crosses into the box, so that both myself and the team can keep scoring goals. "My personal tally of 11 last season was great and if I can get near that again this year I'll be very pleased with my contribution."
