Swailes worry for Latics

Oldham Athletic face an anxious wait to see how long skipper Chris Swailes will be ruled out for after he suffered a recurrence of his long-term heel injury in training.

The 35-year-old defender missed the first five months of the season because of the problem and had to pull out of Saturday's 3-1 win against Blackpool at Boundary Park because of it.

He is undergoing treatment on the heel, but will definitely miss Friday night's trip to struggling Hartlepool and could be out for several weeks.

Meanwhile Richie Wellens' back injury, which forced him out of Saturday's game against his former club with 11 minutes remaining, is expected to return for this week's trip to Victoria Park.
