Stam stays with Latics

Defender Stefan Stam has performed a U-turn and decided to extend his contract at Oldham Athletic.
Stam, 26, looked to be heading out of Boundary Park on a free transfer with his contract set to expire.
But the Dutch defender has had a change of heart and decided to put pen to paper on a new one-year deal with the Latics.
"Obviously I'm very pleased to welcome Stefan back to Boundary Park," manager John Sheridan told the club's official website.
"He was excellent at the heart of the defence last season and is a valued member of the squad."
