Oldham Athletic manager John Sheridan claims reports of a brawl between players on a club night out have been blown out of all proportion.
On Thursday, the Latics board issued a statement confirming that one unnamed player had been fined the maximum two weeks' wages and two others had been "severely censured and warned as to their future conduct".
But Sheridan claims media reports of the incident at Belle Vue dog track have been inaccurate.
He told BBC Radio Manchester: "Whatever went on, it was dealt with.
"I was there. I've heard and read lots of things. What I've supposed to have done, what other people have supposed to have done, it didn't happen.
"One or two people had a drink, their behaviour wasn't right, I dealt with it.
"It's gone now and I've just got to try and concentrate and get the lads together, which they are."
