Sheridan plans Porter return

Oldham Athletic manager John Sheridan believes top scorer Chris Porter could return to action next weekend against Leyton Orient.

The 23-year-old former Bury striker has missed the last two games after picking up a knee injury in training, but Sheridan is confident he will have the chance to add to his 18-goal tally for the season against the O's.

"Chris feels a lot better, and he wasn't far away from playing tonight (against Doncaster)," Sheridan told the Latics' official website.

"We just felt it was a day or two too soon for him, and therefore it was best if he didn't try to play. Hopefully he'll be ready for next week."
