Penney wants three more signings

Penney has enjoyed a profitable recruitment drive this summer and so far signed Dean Furman, Pawel Abbott, Rob Purdie, Jonathan Worthington and Joe Jacobson. He has also retained the services of Sean Gregan but the Latics boss is keen to bring another goalkeeper, centre-back and striker to Boundary Park. Penney said: "We are continuing to talk to players and agents and I am on the phone every two minutes at the moment. "It's no secret where we want to strengthen - I'm looking for a goalkeeper, another central defender and another striker. "We are pretty well stocked otherwise and I won't be rushing into things. The players have to be right for the club."
