Penney optimistic over Stephens

The 22-year-old missed the 1-0 win at Stockport in midweek due to hip and hamstring injuries but they are not thought to be serious. That means Stephens, who has become a prominent figure for the Latics, has a chance of featuring. Penney made a total of five changes to his starting line-up for Tuesday's win at Edgeley Park and may opt to tinker with his side again. Penney, who has allowed striker Keigan Parker to join Bury on a month's loan, is set hand on-loan Doncaster striker Lewis Guy his home debut. Winger Joe Colbeck (ankle) will be assessed but midfielder Jim Goodwin (thigh) looks set to miss out.
