Oldham Athletic have won the race to sign former Huddersfield Town captain Andy Holdsworth.
The defender has penned a two-year contract at Boundary Park following his release from the Galpharm Stadium towards the end of last season.
Holdsworth had been training with Bradford City and appeared in two friendlies for the Bantams.
But he revealed the chance to remain in League One was something he could not turn down.
"I had a number of options but once I knew Oldham were interested I knew that was it," the 25-year-old told Oldham's official website.
"I wanted to play in League One and I know I have made the right move.
"I set my standards and I would not have signed if I didn't think the club could go places."
Holdsworth made 251 appearances for Huddersfield during six years in the Terriers first-team.
