Latics reward Lomax

Oldham Athletic right-back Kelvin Lomax has been rewarded for some impressive displays by being offered a deal that will keep him at Boundary Park until the end of next season.

The 20-year-old was released by former Latics boss Ronnie Moore at the end of last term, but was brought back to the club by John Sheridan, initially on non-contract terms.

"Kelvin's come in and done very well," Sheridan told the club's official website.

"He's been in and around the first-team and is a very intelligent footballer - the kind of player I like."

Lomax has made 20 first-team appearances for the League One side - his last as a substitute in the 1-0 win against Tranmere Rovers.
