Latics look for loan keeper

Oldham Athletic manager John Sheridan has revealed he is on the lookout for a goalkeeper on loan after losing Mark Crossley to injury.

Veteran Crossley is struggling with a groin injury picked up during Tuesday's 2-0 victory over Bournemouth and is unlikely to be fit for the weekend trip to Luton Town.

Sheridan has revealed he has already missed out in a bid to sign Manchester City's Kasper Schmeichel, but is still keen to snap up a loan keeper in time to face the Hatters.

"Mark's got a slight groin problem which isn't too bad, but I still think he's going to miss a few games," he told the club's official website.

"I've made a few phone calls already today and have enquired about two keepers who I'm waiting to get back to me.

"I think we need to get one in because young Josh (Bell) isn't quite ready for first-team football yet.

"With the position we're in we need to be right and I'll be trying to get a decent keeper in who can help us get the win we need at Luton."
