Latics land Owls striker

Oldham Athletic have attempted to boost their flagging promotion bid by signing Sheffield Wednesday striker Leon Clarke on a month's loan.
Latics boss John Sheridan has moved quickly to stop the rot after watching his side lose four consecutive League One games.
Sheridan was also forced into the loan market after losing striker Chris Hall to a broken leg last week.
"Leon Clarke has asked to go out on loan because he wants to get four or five games under his belt," confirmed Wednesday boss Brian Laws.
"Having thought long and hard about it, I felt that if I continue to give him ten or 15 minutes here and there he isn't going to get the sharpness he needs.
"One of the problems is that fitness is one of the things Leon needs to work at and with the way our other strikers are playing, I can't guarantee him match action.
"Hopefully the loan spell should benefit both Sheffield Wednesday and the player."
