Latics expect Taylor move talk

Oldham Athletic insist they have heard nothing from Sheffield United about their reported interest in Chris Taylor.

The highly-rated midfielder, who is valued at £500,000 by the Latics, has been linked with a January switch to Bramall Lane, and chief executive Alan Hardy is unsurprised by the Championship side's interest in the player.

"A lot of clubs admire Chris and it doesn't surprise me that clubs of Sheffield United's stature are interested in him," he told the Oldham Chronicle.

"We don't want to sell our better players. We want to retain them as long as possible and I can confirm that we haven't received a bid from Sheffield United."
