Hines confirms loan deal

Talented Middlesbrough defender Seb Hines has agreed to join Oldham Athletic on an initial month's loan, just weeks after a previous deal fell through.

The 20-year-old, who has represented England at U16, U17 and U19 level, has made just one substitute appearance with the Premier League club this year but is highly rated.

Boro boss Gareth Southgate underlined his expectations for Hines by giving him a new two-and-a-half year contract earlier this week.

Oldham manager John Sheridan has yet to confirm what role Hines will play but he is likely to include him in the squad for the clash with Northampton on Saturday.
