Hills to put injury behind him

Oldham Athletic defender Lee Hills is hoping he can impress Latics manager Dave Penney during his loan spell with the League One outfit.

On loan from Crystal Palace, the left-back made his debut in the FA Cup loss to Leeds United last weekend and he is expected to feature against Gillingham on Saturday.

Nineteen-year-old Hills featured for Palace under boss Neil Warnock during last season, but injury has curtailed his promising career and he is hoping to get his fitness back with the Boundary Park club.

Speaking to Oldham Evening Chronicle, he said: "I played a lot last year, but due to injuries I haven't managed to do so this time.

"I am looking forward to getting out there, taking the atmosphere and taking in some games.

"I asked a few people about Oldham before I arrived here and heard that the team plays good football under a good manager and that the lads are a decent bunch."
