Eardley commits to Latics

Oldham Athletic defender Neal Eardley has signed a new contract with the Latics that will keep him at Boundary Park until the end of the 2009-10 season.

The 18-year-old Wales international has been watched by several Premier League sides, but has now decided to commit himself to the League One club.

He has already made 55 appearances for Oldham since making his debut for the club 17 months ago.

Meanwhile, Sean Gregan could be set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up an Achilles injury in Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at Doncaster Rovers.
