Davies committed to Latics

Oldham Athletic striker Craig Davies is hoping to help the club challenge for promotion this season, having signed a contract extension at Boundary Park.

The 22-year-old Wales international is now under contract until the end of next season and is looking forward to exciting times with the Latics.

He told the club's official website: "I'm happy at the club and I get on well with the staff and players, so I thought why not?

"To be honest I would always have signed again here, because we've brought in a few players this summer and I think the club is really looking to move forward.

"We have a big squad this year and hopefully that will help us to really push on.

"I've set a few targets, but the main one is to stay in the team and then try to achieve beyond that."
