Crossley vows to play on

Veteran goalkeeper Mark Crossley insists he has no intention of retiring from the game at the end of the season and is keen to pen a new deal with Oldham Athletic.

The 38-year-old veteran is out of contract in the summer, but believes he is fit enough to enjoy one more campaign in professional football.

"I definitely want to play for another year and I hope I can do that here," Crossley told the Latics' official website.

"Nothing's been sorted out yet but I want to play. I want to play another season and have made that clear.

"Obviously it's not a money thing because that isn't a problem any more - I just enjoy playing.

"I said at the start of the season that if I enjoyed this year and played the majority of games I'd play for another year, and I've enjoyed this season immensely.

"I really think this club is going places, and we'd be in a much stronger position if we'd managed to keep key players free of injury."
