Crossley targets promotion

New signing Mark Crossley believes Oldham Athletic can go one better next season and win promotion from League One.

The Latics lost out to Blackpool in last season's play-off semi-finals, but the veteran goalkeeper believes boss John Sheridan is building a squad capable of going all the way this time around.

Crossley, 38, moved to Boundary Park after being released by Fulham at the end of last season.

"I've known John for a long time and he got in touch and asked if I'd like to come up here," he told the club's official website.

"This club did very well last season and I'm hoping my experience will sit well alongside the other experienced pros such as Sean Gregan.

"Hopefully we can progress one step further this time around and I want to be a part of that."
