Ankle blow for McDonald

Oldham midfielder Gary McDonald could be ruled out of action for up to three weeks after suffering an ankle injury at Yeovil on Saturday.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Latics from Kilmarnock in the summer, limped out of the action early on at Huish Park, before being yellow-carded for re-entering the field of play without permission.

McDonald's return to the game only lasted a few minutes as boss John Sheridan was forced to take him off on 17 minutes and it now appears there has been some ligament damage suffered.
