Oldham Athletic boss John Sheridan picked out Mark Allott for special praise after the Latics continued their recent good form with a 1-1 draw against Luton Town at Boundary Park.
Sheridan signed Allott on a two-year deal from Chesterfield in the summer and the 29-year-old has played a key role in the club's recent revival.
"There were lots of good performances, but Mark Allott was outstanding," said the Oldham boss.
"That was because he did the ugly things, chased back, won balls and played it simple - it was his best game by a mile.
"Mark was one of the players who drove the team forward."
