Wright delighted by Jones return

Jones, who joined the club on a three-month loan earlier this season, is currently recovering from a knee injury with his parent club's physio team but has pencilled in the Latics' trip to Yeovil on February 21 to make his first-team comeback.

And Wright has hailed the re-signing of the 22-year-old on a loan deal until the end of the season and believes he will add a new dimension to boss John Sheridan's defensive options.

"We appreciate money is tight at the club," Wright told the Oldham Chronicle. "We have managed to sign Daniel on loan and the most pleasing aspect is that we didn't lose any of our key players."

"As we saw in his first spell here, Daniel is a very good player.

"He is a fine, attacking left-back and hopefully when this injury problem is behind him, he will be available for the rest of the season."
