Wolfenden weighs up Latics offer

The youngster has been offered a deal at Boundary Park to prove himself under the new boss. Penney has been quick to make his mark on the League One club since taking over from temporary manager Joe Royle at the end of the season, having overseen a large scale cull of players. Wolfenden, who has made 47 appearances for the Latics since making his debut in November 2003, is the only out-of-contract player that could still be at the club next season. Mark Allott rejected the offer of a new contract, while the likes of Sean Gregan, Mark Crossley, Andy Liddell, JP Kalala, Stefan Stam and Kevin Maher have all been released.
