Wolfenden signs incentive deal
The 23-year-old suffered from a spate of injuries that restricted him to just seven appearances last term and Penney has handed Wolfenden the opportunity to enjoy a full pre-season campaign in a deal that ends in August.
If the youngster comes through that spell injury-free then Penney could be prepared to extend the deal further.
"We are delighted Matty has decided to sign this short-term deal. He now has the chance to prove his fitness during pre-season," chief executive Alan Hardy told the club's official website.
"This is also an opportunity for Matty to show his true value to the new manager during the pre-season games.
"We hope things go well and if they do there may be a possibility of offering him a further extension."
