Trialists out to impress
Oldham will be fielding eight trialists in their opening pre-season friendly at Barrow on Saturday.
Midfielder Jason Jarrett, who made 15 appearances for the Latics while on loan in 2008, will be one of the players out to impress new manager Paul Dickov after leaving Port Vale in December.
Jason Beardsley and Rodney McDonald, released by Derby and Stoke respectively, will appear in defence and midfielders Sean Highdale, still under contract at Liverpool, and Scott McLaughlin, released by Morton, are also among those handed a run-out.
