Tounkara wins Dickov praise

Oldham manager Paul Dickov hailed striker Oumare Tounkara after his side eked out a hard-fought 1-0 win at Dagenham & Redbridge. On-loan Leeds defender Aidy white scored the only goal of the game on his debut for the Latics, converting at the far post in the 57th minute, but Tounkara won the plaudits. Dickov said: "He was absolutely brilliant. These last couple of weeks he's really stepped up to the plate and he's getting better all the time. "When he plays like he did he's unplayable. He uses his body well, he's quick and he gave us everything he had." Dickov added: "That's probably the most satisfying win I've had so far. The boys really had to dig in deep. We were put under a lot of pressure and Dagenham & Redbridge play percentage football and want to get the ball up as quick as they can. "But I thought as a team and as individuals we were magnificent. Every game is like that, whether it's Dagenham or Huddersfield, in the first 10 minutes you have to fight for the right to play football."
