Dickov - "I would like to wish him all the best"

Latics' longest serving player Chris Taylor has signed for Millwall, a move which ends a nine year playing career at Boundary Park. Taylor has signed a 12 month deal at the New Den. Taylor made 285 appearances for the Latics but rejected the offer on the table as he wanted to test himself playing in the Championship.

Boss Paul Dickov said, “Chris has been one of our most consistent players in my time at the club. I would like to wish him all the best and can fully understand why he wants to play at a higher level as any player should strive to do. While here, Chris relished playing against higher-division opposition and I am sure he will achieve success at Millwall who like to play football the right way which will suit his game.”
