Taggart confirmed as number two
Dickov - "I need somebody I can trust implicity" Gerry Taggart has now been confirmed as the Latics new assistant manager. Taggart is 39 and has been deleyed from linking up with his old team-mate Paul Dickov due to contractual problems at former club Leicester. The pair played together at both Manchester City and Leicester. Dickov, who is player/manager at Athletic stressed the importance of having someone to trust on the sidelines. Taggart has coached at Stoke City, Tamworth and Leicester where he was joint caretaker manager with Frank Burrows. He said, "I need somebody I can trust implicity and Gerry is that person. Gerry thinks along the same lines as myself, and he is also an excellent coach."
