Stephens may stay at Saints
Oldham midfielder Dale Stephens could make his loan switch to Southampton a permanent move in the summer.
Stephens joined Saints on a deal until the end of the season last Thursday and has not ruled out a longer stay on the south coast.
"I'd like to think so, but as far as I know it's just a loan at the moment, so hopefully I'll play games here and impress the gaffer," he told Southampton's official club site.
"I'm delighted to be here and I'll take every game as it comes because it's a test for me, but a good opportunity too, so we'll see what comes of that."
The 21-year-old, is in line to make his Saints debut against MK Dons on Saturday.
