Smith talks about first goal

"The win has given the boys a massive lift" Matt Smith was delighted with his match winning goal, his first league goal, at Scunthorpe and said, “Obviously I am delighted to get my first goal, but the most important thing was the result and the boys worked and grafted hard for our win. It was a battle as Scunthorpe were a physical side, but we worked hard and played some nice football at times. David Mellor scored a wonder striker to put us ahead and I was lucky to get the goal towards the end, after which we were gripping on for dear life.”“The win has given the boys a massive lift as everybody was a little down after the opening week of the season. The gaffer has show so much faith in us and we must now push on and get more wins. I was a little disheartened I hadn't opened my account in the first three matches as I had great chances, the header at Yeovil and several against Carlisle. I will never hide, however, and I am just glad to have scored my first goal.”
