Royle warning for Latics squad

Royle made his emotional return to Boundary Park on a short-term contract for the last nine games of the season but he has only one more chance to end an anti-climactic winless run.[LNB]Oldham were on course to break their duck against Southend when Neal Eardley converted a penalty yet substitute Lee Barnard equalised within 10 minutes with the game ending 1-1.[LNB]And though it is understood 60-year-old Royle will still be offered the job long-term, there is uncertainty over whether he would accept.[LNB]"I have been speaking to the chairman and I will speak to him again but, whoever is manager next season, there needs to be changes in the squad," he admitted.[LNB]"You start every year ambitious, otherwise there is no point, but what we have at the moment is going to be nearer a relegation fight than a promotion battle."[LNB][LNB]
