Royle targeting play-off place

Royle returned to Boundary Park for a second spell in charge following the departure of John Sheridan and has seen the Latics lose to Tranmere and draw with Cheltenham in his first two games in charge. Oldham travel to Leyton Orient on Saturday five points adrift of the top six and Royle also revealed he would like to blood some of his youngsters before the season is over. "I plan to give youth a chance but we must do that at the right time and with the appropriate players," Royle told the club's official website. "We are still in with a chance and we will retain that attitude until it's mathematically impossible."
