Royle: I'm learning a lot already

Royle, by far the most successful manager in Latics' history and re-appointed after the sacking of John Sheridan, saw his team well beaten by play-off rivals Tranmere.[LNB]Tranmere struck through Charlie Barnett and Ian Moore. And prodigal son Royle admitted it was just a relief to get his first week out of the way.[LNB]Royle said: "I wasn't a fan of the pre-match carnival and all the nostalgia. It's not my style.[LNB]"I've loved being back after 15 years and the welcome has been wonderful - I understand why people wanted all that stuff, but I would rather have been celebrating at the end.[LNB]"I've already learned a lot about my players and, although 2-0 was harsh, I have no complaints about the result. I wouldn't call it a reality check because we can definitely reach the play-offs, but Tranmere were the tighter unit and the better team."[LNB][LNB]
