Royle eyes Latics play-off bid
The Latics currently lie one point outside the top six and Royle is confident he has the resources at his disposal to break back into play-off contention.
"I have been thrown an opportunity to be at Wembley in May which is fantastic. It was an easy decision to make. This club has always been very special to me," he told the Oldham Evening Chronicle.
"We have the basis of a side which has beaten and drawn against the top sides in the division, so there are good players here who have handled this division."
Royle does not see his recent break from the game as a problem and cannot wait to be involved again.
"I am looking forward to getting back into management because I have missed the Saturday dose of dug-out fever," he added. "It will be nice to have that again."
