Penney works towards weekend win
The Latics have won only one of their first seven League One outings this term and are languishing fourth bottom of the table.
However, Penney is confident an upturn in fortunes is not far away after an impressive display in last weekend's 1-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers.
Penney said: "We will have another good week on the training ground and try to get the win which we need against Carlisle on Saturday.
"It is our job to lift the players, watch the DVD of the Bristol Rovers match and look how we can do better."
