Penney: We were not at the races

The Latics were chasing a fourth straight win but paid the price for some wasteful finishing at Boundary Park as Keigan Parker and Chris Taylor squandered the best chances of a mediocre game.[LNB]Penney said: "We were never really at the races, but we still had plenty of opportunities to win the game. Our finishing and our final ball let us down and there were times when people should have been unselfish instead of trying to score themselves.[LNB]"We used up a lot of energy against MK Dons on Tuesday night and I think that showed in this performance, although we still have 10 points out of the last 12 so I cannot complain."[LNB]He continued: "Everyone would have been expecting champagne football after the way we played on Tuesday, but it was not going to be that easy because Yeovil were never going to lie down.[LNB]"We have had a good fortnight with three wins and a draw so now we have to carry that forward into a very tough game at Charlton next weekend."[LNB][LNB]
