Penney wants more clinical Latics
Scott Dobie justified his recall to the United side with a classic header two minutes from time to send the Cumbrians into the second round.
Penney said: "We dominated the first half although Carlisle did come back stronger in the second half.
"Although we had the majority of the chances they took their one clear-cut chance.
"I'm disappointed but good luck to Carlisle. They took the chance on the night and deserve their place in the next round."
