Penney rues poor finishing

Oldham boss Dave Penney felt his side had looked the better team for much of the first half of their 4-2 defeat at Swindon. In-form striker Billy Paynter grabbed two goals before the break to set Swindon on their way, with Charlie Austin and Daniel Ward adding further strikers after the interval. Oldham did hit back through Joe Colbeck and Jason Price, but it was too little, too late. Penney said: "For 44 minutes we were the better side, but we couldn't do anything about the first goal, but we should have settled and regained our composure. "It was a stupid penalty to give away, and we didn't take our chances in the first 44 minutes. The second goal was a real killer, and goals always change games, and we went in at 2-0 down. "We are disappointed, because we played well but didn't take our chances. We didn't work the keeper enough, and we snatched at our chances, and at 4-0 the game was over. I was pleased for Joe (Colbeck) and Jason (Price), who got their first goals for the club."
