Penney pleased with solid Latics
Pawel Abbott was the hero with the only goal just before half-time, while Latics goalkeeper Dean Brill produced two fine saves late on to deny substitute Marvin Sordell.[LNB]Penney said: "It was a massive three points for us and it was pleasing to keep a clean sheet. We did not play too well but experience stood us in good stead.[LNB]"Thankfully our keeper made a couple of brilliant saves late on. It was the only time Tranmere really breached our defence.[LNB]"We defended very well when we had to and we certainly had to remain switched on. The win should give us some self-belief.[LNB]"But we've got to make sure we go on to pick up more points from our games in hand."[LNB][LNB]
